Our ceremony will be held outside at the Flagstaff Sunrise Amphitheater, atop Flagstaff Mountain, affording us a beautiful backdrop while we exchange vows.
Parking at Flagstaff is limited, and while we have the amphitheater reserved – it does not include reserved parking. Cars registered outside of Boulder County will need to purchase a $5 parking permit at one of the self-service stations on the way up. This is on the honor system, and we have been told it is rarely enforced, but want to make our guests aware nonetheless.
The punchline: please carpool! As we get closer to the big day, we will message you about some locations to park and ride-share with each other, in addition to coordinating departures from hotels. We also plan on having some volunteer-guests help identify parking options as folks arrive at the summit.
The drive to the top has lots of twists and turns, but also a few spots to stop and snap breathtaking photos of the Front Range. Drivers should also note that this is a popular (and challenging) climb for cyclists and hikers who will be sharing the road, so make sure to leave extra time in your travels to reach the amphitheater. From the base, it should take about :15 minutes. If you arrive early, we recommend a stroll to the nearby Realization Point to take in the view of the Continental Divide (photo on right).
For those with mobility issues or treacherous footwear, the amphitheater can be reached by a handicap accessible ramp as well as a stone staircase.
We plan on having light refreshments available at the amphitheater, and remind everyone to stay hydrated – especially since the amphitheater is at 6,850 feet.
We encourage all our guests to stay after the conclusion of the ceremony to partake in a group photo with the bride and groom.
In the event of inclement weather, we will conduct the ceremony at the Reception site.
