Airport and Airlines
The nearest airport to Boulder is Denver International Airport (DEN), and you should book your flight in through there. Typically, Frontier Airlines, Delta Airlines, Jet Blue Airlines, and United Airlines have the best prices on direct flights from major hubs. Southwest Airlines also has good availability, but should be searched directly on their site rather then on a search engine like Expedia.com, as Southwest’s fares are not shown on those websites.
Getting to Boulder
While you will not need a car for getting around downtown Boulder, renting a car is the best option if you want to explore the rest of the city and the beautiful surrounding areas. For the ceremony, it is important guests carpool as parking is limited – and we would be happy to help coordinate rides. For more on rental car options, click here. Be sure to check the policy regarding toll roads with your rental agency if you plan on taking I-470 (see note and directions below). Some rental agencies charge a high premium if you use this booth-less toll system.
Super Shuttle (~$27)
The Super Shuttle runs frequent trips to Boulder and will deliver you directly to your destination. You can locate the Super Shuttle counter at ground transportation information inside the airport. For more information, click here.
Public Bus (~$14)
The public RTD bus runs the AB route from the aiport to downtown Boulder. Exact change is needed for the bus so keep this in mind for planning or you can purchase tickets from the RTD counter in the main terminal. The bus stop in Boulder is located 3 blocks from the Hotel Boulderado. For more information visit RTD Denver and click on “Skyride” under “Services”.
Taxi/Town Car ($80-$100)
There are numerous taxis for hire at DIA. Companies typically have a flat-rate to Boulder – make sure to inquire before you begin the ride. Click here for more information about taxis.
Directions from the Airport
When driving from the airport, there are two main routes to Boulder.
I-70 / I-270 Route – This route skirts the northern part of Denver before heading northwest to Boulder, and can have traffic around rush hour.
E-470 Toll Route – an $8.50 toll is collected by toll stations which take pictures of your license plates and then send a bill through the mail if you do not have an expresstoll tag, and can be useful during rush hour to avoid traffic headed to/from Denver.
